NEW MINAS, NS – A woman has been flown via LifeFlight helicopter to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a head on collision on Highway 101 in New Minas this morning.
Nova Scotia RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Jennifer Clarke confirmed two cars collided head Dec. 15 around 7:44 a.m. between exits 12 and 13 on the highway near New Minas.
Constable Kelli Gaudet with Kings District RCMP confirmed both drivers, a 42-year-old woman from Wolfville and a 46-year-old man from Coldbrook, were alone in their vehicles and injured in the collision.
The man’s injuries were also serious but non-life-threatening, and he was transported to hospital via ambulance.
The RCMP collision analyst has completed the assessment and the highway has reopened.
It was confirmed that poor road conditions were a factor in the collision, but further details have not been released, as the investigation remains ongoing.
