Despite showers and the draw of other biking events around the province, over 50 bikers took part Saturday in the second annual Wharf Rat Rally poker run.
Bikers picked up their poker hands at different locations along Hwy. 1 from St. Bernard to Meteghan and out through Route 340 back to Marshalltown.
“It was a great day in spite of the weather,” said Dean Carty, whose full house was the winning poker hand. “This got me revved up for the Rally.”
Rally director Peter Robertson was pleased with the turnout and thanked volunteers who helped out.
“We had 25 bikes register for the run,” said Robertson.
He said the motorcycle rally, which is held Labour Day weekend, still needs volunteers. For information, check out the website at
