The Events column is for non-profit listings of events in Digby County. Items may run twice for free before the event’s date. Items can be emailed to info@digbycourier.ca, faxed to 245-6136 or mailed to the Digby Courier at 124 Water St., P.O. Box 670, Digby, N.S., B0V 1A0, attention: Events. Deadline for submitting listings for the upcoming issue is Thursday at 4 p.m.
June 19 - Spring tea in New Tusket Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 2 – 4 p.m. Sponsored by the New Tusket Women’s Institute.

June 20 - Clare Relay for Life at l'Ecole Secondaire de Clare, Meteghan River, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

June 20-21 - Yard sale at 162 Third Avenue, Digby, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proceeds for Trinity Anglican Church.

June 21 - Evangelism conference in Little River Baptist Church from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., sponsored by Annapolis-Digby Association. For information, call 834-2350.

June 21 - Firemen’s breakfast in Smith’s Cove Fire Hall-Community Centre from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Proceeds for fire department.

June 21 - Yard sale & used clothing sale in Smith’s Cove Baptist Church from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds to auxiliary for church repairs.

June 22 - Bluegrass gospel concert in Hill Grove United Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Special guests The Dearman Sisters. Help send a child to Camp Peniel this summer. Free will offering.

June 22 - Benefit in Digby East Fish & Game clubhouse from noon to 4 p.m. to aid seven-year-old Makayla Gouchie who has leukemia. Entertainment, auction, bake sale, rapure, hot dogs.

June 22 - Gulliver’s Cove beach sweep beginning at 10 a.m. Everyone welcome. For information, call 245-4388 or 245-2762.

June 23 - Ferry rally planned for Cornwallis Park theatre postponed to a later date.

June 24 - Yarmouth Hospital Foundation annual general meeting at 5:30 p.m. in Bluenose Conference Room, Yarmouth Regional Hospital. For information, phone 749-1669

June 26 - South West Nova Transition House Association (Juniper House) annual general meeting in Yarmouth Wesleyan Church at 6:30 p.m. Everyone invited. Guest speaker, Jim Stockman.

June 28 - Breakfast in Freemason’s Hall, Digby, from 7:30 – 9 a.m. Goodwill offering. Proceeds for local charities, building upkeep.

June 28 - Yard sale in Holy Cross Church, Plympton, starting at 9 a.m. Rapure, hotdogs at noon. To make donations or to reserve a table, call Mary Ann at 837-4402 or Don at 837-7415.

June 28-29 - Maritime barrel racing at Annapolis Valley Exhibition grounds, Lawrencetown

June 30 - July 5 - 4-H boot camp, light horse show at Annapolis Valley Exhibition grounds, Lawrencetown

July 5 - Loyalist luncheon with strawberry shortcake from noon to 2 p.m. at Old Temperance hall Museum, Smith’s Cove.

Until Sept. 10 - Scallop Palette Gallery in Digby General Hospital features works by Sharon Trueman of Bear River, who is exhibiting new drawings with the theme of peace.

TUESDAYS - Baby and me. Morning fun for babies and caregivers from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library, Digby. Program presented by Family Resource Centre and Public Health. Phone 245-2163 for more information.

TUESDAYS – Bingo in Digby East Fish and Game Association clubhouse at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAYS - Mental health support group meetings in Digby General Hospital boardroom at 7:30 p.m. for anyone with an interest in mental health. For information, call John Roswell at 245-4552 or Mike Gaudet at 778-0193.

Last Tuesday of month - MS support group meets in Digby General Hospital cafeteria from 6:30–8 p.m. For information, call John Bent at 245-6707.

MONTHLY - Chronic pain support group meets the last Monday of every month at Digby Superstore from 7-9 p.m.
