March 15 - Pre-Easter breakfast in Bear River United Baptist Church at 9:30 a.m. with guest speaker Rev. David Hopper. Hymn sing. Free will donations.

March 15 - Coffeehouse open mic night hosted by Shoestring Sling Band at 7:30 in Oakdene Centre, Bear River. Sponsored by Bear River Music Society.

March 16 - Corned beef & cabbage dinner in Freemasons Hall, King Street, Digby, from noon to 6 p.m.

March 16 - Gospel music night concert in Digby Baptist Churtch at 7 p.m. with trio Bonnie, Pete and Linda. Freewill offering, all welcome.

March 19 - Relay for Life team captains meeting at 7 p.m. in Trinity Anglican Hall, Queen Street.

March 20 - ‘Desperately seeking doctors’ documentary showing in DRHS Community theatre at 7 p.m. Originally shown Jan. 17 on CBC about health care problems in Digby and across Canada. Free admission.

March 22 - Scotch doubles pool tournament in Royal Canadian Legion, Digby, at 10 a.m. For information, call 245-4070.

March 29 – Crib tournament in Royal Canadian Legion, Digby, at 10 a.m. For information, call 245-4070.

March - Library branches in Digby County collecting food for food banks that serve their areas.

March - Find reading material at the book sale in Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library. Proceeds to library’s Adopt-A-Book campaign, a fundraiser enabling the library to put new material on its shelves.

Thursdays in March & April - Tax help at Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Trained volunteers available to help. Bring T4s and other tax-related documents (health receipts, etc) to complete tax forms. First-come, first-served basis. Call 245-2163 for information.

To April 9 - Artist Marsha Lewis, an acrylic painter, is featured among artists showing new works at the Scallop Palette Gallery in Digby General Hospital.




TUESDAYS - ‘Moms & Tots’ group meets in the Community Room at Digby Atlantic Superstore from 10-11:30 a.m.

WEDNESDAYS - Mental illnesses support group meets in Digby General Hospital boardroom at 7 p.m. Contact John Roswell at 245-4552 or Vicki Surette or Michael Gaudet at 778-0193. Mental health support group meets in Weymouth library on first and third Tuesdays of the month. Call 837-7351.

WEDNESDAYS - Exercise class for older adults. Advent Christian Church, Bear River, at 10:30 a.m. For information, call Eleanor 467-3091.

THURSDAYS - 603rd Weymouth Royal Canadian Army Cadets meets in Weymouth Consolidated School from 6:30-9 p.m. Looking for new members aged 12-18. For information, contact Lieut. Robert Sweeney at (902) 837-7419 after 6 p.m.

SUNDAYS - Hill Grove United Baptist Church holds it Sunday school beginning at 9:45 a.m. (preschoolers to adults) and church service at 11 a.m.

MONTHLY - Chronic pain support group meets the last Monday of every month at Digby Superstore from 7-9 p.m.

MONTHLY - MS support group meets last Tuesday of month in Digby General Hospital cafeteria from 6:30–8 p.m. For information, call John Bent at 245-6707.
